Nobody sets out to buy anodising. They set out to make a product that has to survive something — a monsoon, a customer's thumb, a hydraulic seal, twenty-five years on a coastal roof. The finish is the answer, not the question.
Which plant you need is decided by the size and shape of the object, not by your industry. A cookware maker and a vacuum-flask maker buy the same line. A cookware maker and a window fabricator do not. Four archetypes cover almost everything anodised in India.
Window and door sections, curtain wall, louvres, solar mounting rails, metro and coach interior profiles, ladders, truck bodies.
Tanks 6–7 m. Sized by the longest extrusion. The largest capital decision of the four.
Pneumatic cylinder tubes, valve spools, pistons, cone pulleys for textile machinery, machine-tool parts, heat sinks, aerospace components.
Tanks 0.3–2 m. Wear and lubricity drive the specification, usually hard anodising to MIL-A-8625 Type III.
Kadai, tawa, saucepans, pressure-cooker bodies, urli, vacuum flasks, bottles, tiffin carriers.
Deep drawn and appearance-critical. Tank length is set by the rack, not the part. A rack mark here is a reject, not a blemish.
Rivets, screws, spacers, standoffs, handles, knobs, hinges, brackets, carabiners, pen and torch bodies, connector shells.
Under 100 mm. Processed packed in baskets, not hung. No part-length driver at all — the cheapest of the four plants.
The four lines differ in tank geometry, jigging, transporter cost and floor area — and therefore in capital cost, in what fails, and in what you have to control. The second question that changes everything is who the plant serves. A captive line built to finish your own product earns no job-work income: its return is the outsourcing spend you stop paying, the rejects you stop absorbing on someone else's line, and — normally the largest term — the market you can quote for once you have the capability. A job-work shop earns a rate per square metre and carries sixty days of receivables. Same physics, opposite economics, and the calculator models both.
